First Sitting of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee
The Defence and Internal Affairs Committee held its first sitting on 24 July 2012. As stipulated in Article 25 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure, the sitting was convened by the National Assembly Speaker, MA Nebojsa Stefanovic.
Pending the election of Committee Chairperson, the sitting was chaired by the oldest Committee member, MP Slobodan Velickovic from the Party of United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS) Parliamentary Group.
By a majority of votes, the Committee members elected MP Dusan Bajatovic, from the Socialist Party of Serbia Parliamentary Group, Committee Chairman, and will elect the Committee Deputy Chairperson at one of the upcoming sittings.
