First Sitting of the Committee on Interethnic Relations
In line with the National Assembly’s Rules of Procedure, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the constituting sitting of the Committee on Interethnic Relations.
In line with the National Assembly’s Rules of Procedure, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the constituting sitting of the Committee on Interethnic Relations.
Until the election of Committee Chairman, the sitting was chaired by the oldest deputy, Konstantin Arsenovic.
Deputy Miletic Mihajlovic of the Socialist party of Serbia - United Serbia Deputy Group, was unanimously elected Committee Chairman, and Zeljko Tomic of the Democratic Party of Serbia – Vojislav Kostunica Deputy Group, was elected Committee Deputy Chairman.
At the sitting, opinions were exchanged on the Committee’s upcoming tasks. The need to include the Committee in the activities on the drafting of the Bills on National Councils as soon as possible was particularly stressed, as well as to schedule a sitting attended by the Minister of Human and Minority Rights and National Council Presidents.
