Fifty-Fourth Sitting of the Industry Committee
At the sitting held on 12 March, the members of the Industry Committee considered the information on the problems in the privatisation of company “Zastava PES”, Surdulica.
Following the presentation of the representative of the workers of “Zastava PES”, Surdulica, Drago Djordjevic and ensuing debate involving the Committee members and MPs from Surdulica, the Committee unanimously adopted the following conclusions:
1. In line with Article 74, Paragraph 6 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure, the Industry Committee requests from the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development and the Privatisation Agency, data and information relating to the implementation of the Law on Privatisation, Contract and Annex to the Contract and Agency Decisions relating to the maintenance of production continuity at the “Zastava PES” company from Surdulica;
2. In line with Article 74, Paragraph 6 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure, the Industry Committee requests from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the Labour Inspection information on actions taken to address the charges filed by the workers of “Zastava PES” company from Surdulica regarding their workers rights and the right to strike.
The Committee members went on to consider the Committee’s working experience for the period from 2008 to 2012. Considering that from the new legislature the scope of the Industry Committee will be covered by the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy, the members discussed the potential for the Committee’s efficient operation in view of the rather wide range of spheres and affairs it would deal with. The MPs also discussed the need to improve the Committee’s control function over the ministries, agencies and public enterprises.
