For the sitting, the Speaker set an agenda bearing one item:

1. Election and oath-taking by a member of the Government.

At the beginning of the proceedings the National Assembly noted that Dr Dusan Vujovic had tendered a resignation to the post of Minister of Economy. Vujovic’s term of office as Minister of Economy ended the day the resignation was noted.

The Government member candidate nomination submitted by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic made it possible to open a debate on the Government candidate, their election and oath-taking before the National Assembly.

Having opened the debate on the Candidate nomination for Minister of Finance, said nomination was elaborated, on the behalf of the submitter, by First Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dacic.

As the National Assembly completed the debate on the only item on the agenda, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic set Monday, 4 August 2014, as Voting Day on the Government member nomination, starting at 4.13 pm.

Voting Day

On Voting Day, 4 August, by a majority vote, the National Assembly decided to vote on the Government member nomination by roll call.

174 MPs voted in favour, 9 voted against, noone abstained. As Dr Dusan Vujovic took the oath of office before the National Assembly, Speaker Gojkovic congratulated him and wished him success.

The National Assembly also ruled on the violations of the Rules of Procedure the MPs complained of in the course of the sitting and decided that none of the provisions of the Rules of Procedure had been violated.

As the National Assembly had completed the debate on the single item on the agenda and ruled on it, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic concluded the Fifth Special Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2014.
