Fifth Session of the First Regular Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2003

The following agenda was set for the Fifth Session of the First Regular Sitting of the National Republic of Serbia, convened by Chairperson Natasa Micic for Tuesday 15 April, beginning at 10 a.


The following agenda was set for the Fifth Session of the First Regular Sitting of the National Republic of Serbia, convened by Chairperson Natasa Micic for Tuesday 15 April, beginning at 10 a.m.:

1. Public Information Bill, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia,
2. Planning and Construction Bill, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia,
3. Bill on Republic Administrative Fees, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia,
4. Bill Amending and Modifying the Act on Corporate Income Tax, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia,
5. Bill Modifying the Excise Act, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia,
6. Bill Amending and Modifying the Financial Transaction Tax, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

On the first day of work, the National Assembly debated the Public Information Bill in principle and went on to debate its particulars.

On the second day of work (16 April), the National Assembly concluded debate on the particulars of the Public Information Bill.

At the proposal of deputy chairman of the DOS - Reforms of Serbia DeputiesÆ Group, Sinisa Mitrovic, the agenda was modified under urgent procedure to include the Proposal of a Decision Amending the Decision on the Election of Members of Committees of the National Assembly of Serbia. When work resumed, the Deputies debated the Proposal in principle.

In the afternoon part of the session, the Deputies commenced debate in principle on the Planning and Construction Bill.

On the third day of work (17 April), the National Assembly concluded debate in principle and discussion on amendments submitted to the Planning and Construction Bill and commenced joint debate in principle on the Bill on Republic Administrative Fees, the Bills Amending and Modifying the Corporate Income Tax Act and the Financial Transaction Tax Act, as well as the Bill Modifying the Excise Act.

On the fourth day of work (18 April), the National Assembly concluded joint debate in principle on the financial Bills and discussed amendments submitted to the Bill on Republic Administrative Fees, as well as those relating to the Bill Amending and Modifying the Corporate Income Tax Act and the Bill Modifying the Excise Act.

In the afternoon part of the session, the Deputies commenced debate on the particulars of the Bill Amending and Modifying the Act on Financial Transactions.

The President of the National Assembly declared Tuesday 22 April Voting Day for Bills considered at the session.

On the fifth day of work (22 April), the Deputies finished debating amendments submitted to the Bill Amending and Modifying the Financial Transactions Tax Act.

The agenda was amended under urgent procedure to include joint debate on Proposals of Decisions on the terminaton of office, election, nomination and dismissal of judicial officials. A vote was then taken on the Proposals.

The Public Information Bill, the Planning and Construction Bill, the Bill on Republic Administrative Fees, the Bill Amending and Modifying the Corporate Income Tax Act, the Bill Amending and Modifying the Excise Act and the Bill Amending and Modifying the Act on Financial Transaction were adopted as wholes, after the National Assembly concluded debating them.

After the adoption of Proposals of Decisions on the termination of office, election, nomination and dismissal of judicial officials, the President of the Supreme Court of Serbia, Sonja Brkic, and the Republic Public Prosecutor, Djordje Ostojic, took the oath of office before the National Assembly.

The President of the National Assembly, Natasa Micic, then concluded the Fifth Session of the First Regular Sitting of the National Assembly in 2003.
