The main topic of the meeting was Natalia Poklonskaya’s initiative to extend the validity of the working and residence permits of Serbs employed in Russia which at this moment needs to be extended on a monthly basis. The initiative demands that the permit be extended every six months and the issue is expected to be resolved as soon as possible since the Russian Foreign Ministry had given a positive response and the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs are expected to respond positively as well.

The officials also discussed the sovereignty and integrity of the two countries and the National Assembly members took the opportunity to thank Russia for its support of Serbia efforts to preserve its territorial integrity in Kosovo-Metohija.

They also said that the two brotherly countries share the same faith which needs to be nurtured outside of their borders as well, adding that that cooperation on this matter is strengthened through the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy.

After the meeting the Chairman and members of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region had a press conference with Natalia Poklonskaya.
