European Youth Parliament Seventh National Conference

The Conference with the motto “Together toward the future”, attended by more than 120 young people from Serbia, the region and a great many European countries was dedicated to the construction of the South Stream, Euro-integration of the countries in the region, Bologna system and higher education, inclusion of young people in the decision-making system and entrepreneurship among the youth.

On the behalf of the National Assembly the participants were addressed by MP Elvira Kovacs. She told them to be persistent and determined in their wish to be included in social trends not only as observers, but through their decision-making power as well. Speaking on the behalf of her colleagues the MP said that politicians need to listen to young people more closely because only a two-way communication and reciprocal understanding can give results.
“I personally believe that we can achieve more together than individually”, stressed Kovacs.
Out of 60 high-school students, 18 were selected at the Conference to represent Serbia at the European Youth Parliament’s International Sessions gathering more than 250 young people from Europe.
