European Integration Committee Members Meet with EU Council Enlargement Committee Members
European Integration Committee Chairman Aleksandar Senic and the Committee members met with the members of the Committee on EU enlargement of the Council of European Union (COELA), headed by Georgia De Parolis, at the National Assembly House.
Senic briefed the delegation members on the documents passed by the National Assembly which set out the principles and procedures for Serbia’s EU accession, stressing that Serbia is ready to open chapter 32 – financial control.
The officials also discussed the harmonisation of domestic legislation with the EU acquis, underlining the importance of dialogue between the legislative and executive government and the civil society for Serbia’s EU accession process.
The Committee delegation, comprising representatives of the 28 EU member states, is in a three-day visit to Serbia at the initiative of Italy, currently presiding over the EU Council.
