Eighty-Second Sitting of the Justice and Administration Committee

At a short sitting held on 14 July, the Justice and Administration Committee considered, in principle, the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Local Elections, submitted by the Government.

The sitting was attended by Dusko Radakovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights, Public Administration and Local Self-Government and associates. The Ministry representative stressed that the Bill harmonises the Law with the adopted Law on Organisation of Courts and Law on Administrative Disputes, as well as the Decision of the Constitutional Court that the mandate should belong to the councilmen.

The Committee unanimously decided to propose that the National Assembly should accept the Bill in principle.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Bosko Ristic.
