Eighth Sitting of the Committee on Kosovo-Metohija

At the sitting held on 26 April, the Committee on Kosovo-Metohija reviewed the Report on the current process of political and technical dialogue with the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina with the mediation of the European Union, including the process of implementation of the agreements reached.

The Committee members were addressed by the Deputy Director of the Government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija, Krstimir Pantic, who shared the Office’s opinion that the First accord on principles regulating the normalisation of relations does not honour the Resolution of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. Pantic added that due to the abovementioned reason the Office Director, Aleksandar Vulin, had tendered his resignation, which the Government is yet to note.
Presenting the Report to the Committee members, the Director of the Office for Expert and Operational Tasks in the negotiations process, Dejan Pavicevic, deemed the First accord on principles regulating the normalisation of relations is a huge step forward which would enable the Serbian people living in the north of Kosovo-Metohija and south of the river Ibar to function normally.
The Committee members discussed the elements of the Report contained in the 15 items of the First accord and the impact their implementation would have on the life of the Serbian people in Kosovo-Metohija.
After the debate, the Committee decided, by a majority of votes, to propose that the National Assembly accept the Report on the current process of political and technical dialogue with the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina with the mediation of the European Union, including the process of implementation of the agreements reached.
It was decided that Committee Chairman Milovan Drecun be the Committee’s rapporteur at the National Assembly sitting.

The sitting was chaired by Milovan Drecun, Committee Chairman.
