Eighth Sitting of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee

At the sitting held on 20 February 2023, the members of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee considered the state-of- play in agriculture ahead of the coming sowing work (with reference to incentives, debts for incentives, loans, livestock farming measures).


The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Jelena Tanaskovic reported to the Committee on the activities in the previous period, with reference, among other things, to the change in the subsidy payment system, the novelties brought by the introduction of the eAgrar system, as well as the situation regarding fertilizer prices and the introduction of levies on milk and dairy products.

The officials discussed the complexity of problems in agriculture, long-term agrarian strategy, accessibility of eAgrar to all agricultural producers, introduction of levies, e quality of imported food, creditworthiness of agricultural producers, tenders for breeding cows, as well as public calls for funds in animal husbandry. There was also talk about the payment of subsidies, activities of registry offices in the field, work of veterinary stations, support for the use of eAgrar for elderly farmers. Topics such as subsidies for dairy cattle breeding, support for young people to engage in agriculture, competitiveness of domestic agricultural production, directing funds from local budgets to agricultural production, implementation of projects financed from the IPARD 2 programme and others were also raised.

Following a lengthy discussion, the Committee adopted relevant conclusions
