Eighth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2003
The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Natasa Micic, convened the Eighth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2003 for 10 a.
The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Natasa Micic, convened the Eighth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2003 for 10 a.m. on Wednesday 4 June 2003.
The request for the holding of the sitting was made by a group of 86 Deputies, who proposed the following agenda:
1. Bill on the Foundations of the Education and Upbringing System, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
At the beginning of the Eighth Extraordinary Sitting, the National Assembly noted that Dragan Veselinov had resigned as Minister of Agriculture and Water Management in the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
Before debate in principle began on the Bill on the Foundations of the Education and Upbringing System, the Deputies were addressed by the Minister of Education and Sports in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Gaso Knezevic. By the end of the first day of work, the National Assembly had debated the Bill in principle.
In the morning part of the second working day (5 June), the National Assembly concluded debating the Bill in principle and commenced debating its particulars.
On the third day of work (10 June), the National Assembly continued to debate amendments submitted to the Bill on the Foundations of the Education and Upbringing System.
After debate on the particulars of the Bill on the Foundations of the Education and Upbringing System concluded, on the fourth day of work (11 June), the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Natasa Micic, declared that a vote would be taken on the Bill at 11 a.m. on Tuesday 17 June.
On Voting Day, 17 June, the National Assembly adopted the Bill on the Foundations of the Education and Upbringing System as a whole, which concluded the Eighth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly in 2003.
