Eighteenth Sitting of the Committee on Trade and Tourism

At the sitting held on 22 November, the Committee on Trade and Tourism discussed the Bill on Market Surveillance, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.


The sitting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management who, in their explanation, stated that the Bill establishes a more comprehensive and efficient market surveillance aimed at making sure that non-food products meet the requirements that ensure the protection of customers, public health and environment. The Bill also established an adequate market surveillance structure in Serbia on the principles of market surveillance in the European Union.

Following a short discussion, the Committee members unanimously adopted the Bill.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dejan Nikolic.
