Dubravka Filipovski at PACE Discussion on “Youth Against Corruption”

On the last day of the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, National Assembly standing delegation substitute member Dubravka Filipovski took part in the discussion on “Youth Against Corruption”.

On the occasion, the Chairperson of GOPAC Serbia said that supervision of public finance and strengthening parliamentary control of public spending should be priorities in the fight against corruption as they are among its most important aspects.

“Reports of independent bodies and cooperation with NGOs should be the focus of more attention. Young people should learn about all the aspects of the fight against corruption in schools”, said Filipovski.

She stressed that, besides schools, the media and social networks also play a crucial role in raising awareness on the fight against corruption, and learning about the importance of the GOPAC national branches established in 53 countries around the world.

“Serbia is a best practice example as one of the few countries whose Parliament has a Public Finance Supervision Portal to control the income/expenditure side of the budget”, Filipovski concluded in her address to PACE.
