During the conversation, the officials emphasised their mutual willingness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, which mark the 75^thanniversary since their establishment this year.

Dr Vladimir Orlic stressed that Serbia is interested in intensifying the partnership in numerous areas of interest, primarily in the sphere of economy and trade exchange between the two countries, and that the Serbian Assembly, its committees and the PFG with Pakistan , is ready to provide its contribution through cooperation with the Pakistani Parliament. Ambassador Altaf congratulated our country on all the results it achieved in previous years, expressing determination to improve cooperation in the field of education, IT sector, infrastructure and agriculture.

The Assembly Speaker then informed the Ambassador about the extremely difficult situation in Kosovo-Metohija, the sole culprit for which, he stressed, is Albin Kurti. "The daily terror he carries out against the Serbs, his mindless violence and attempts to implement the terrible project of ethnic cleansing of the Serbian people from the area of our southern province deserve nothing but condemnation by everyone in the world. On the other hand, our efforts to preserve peace and stability and to seek solutions through dialogue deserve support," said Dr Orlic. Ambassador Altaf agreed with the Assembly Speaker’s assessment, expressing his understanding for Serbia's position and adding that Pakistan's position is that challenges of this nature should be resolved through dialogue.

The Ambassador praised Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s "Open Balkans" initiative, opining that this project represents an exceptional model of cooperation with the region. The Assembly Speaker took the opportunity to thank Pakistan for its support in Belgrade’s election as the host of EXPO 2027, which Ambassador Altaf congratulated the country on, pointing out the importance that this prestigious manifestation will have for all of Serbia and its perspective in the world. The Ambassador expressed his satisfaction that preparations for the specialized international exhibition are already underway, as well as his readiness to personally contribute to its successful realisation. "We have great expectations from EXPO 2027, not only because we will be hosting the entire world, but also because of the additional significant development that it will provide to Serbia. It symbolizes our state policy led by the President of the Republic Aleksandar Vucic, and jointly implemented by the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Serbia - a policy of dynamic economic development, further strengthening of infrastructure, new successes, and at the same time a policy of the best possible cooperation with partners around the world," said the Assembly Speaker.
