Dr Orlic congratulated the Association on its recent establishment, based on the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries, and expressed his belief that cooperation within it will significantly contribute to joint work in the areas it covers. He reiterated that Serbia and China are bound by a strategic partnership and steely friendship, established primarily thanks to presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Xi Jinping, and followed, for their part, by the National Assembly and the Government of Serbia.
The National Assembly Speaker and the members of the delegation expressed their satisfaction with the cooperation achieved so far in the field of economy and trade, especially when it comes to investments and numerous important infrastructure projects that the two countries are implementing together. They expressed determination to further improve joint work in terms of culture and tourism, which, as emphasised at the meeting, the Association will contribute to with its future activities.
In the course of the meeting, attended by the President of the Municipality of Stari Grad Radoslav Marjanovic and the President of the Stari Grad Municipal Assembly Dusan Petric, there was talk of concrete opportunities for cooperation between the cities and provinces in the People's Republic of China and Belgrade municipalities, especially those that had signed twinning agreements in the previous period.
Dr Orlic took the opportunity to thank the People's Republic of China because, together with the Republic of Serbia, it stands on the same side when it comes to respecting the basic principles of public international law, at the same time reiterating our country's support for the "One China" policy.
