The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic sent condolences on the death of the Speaker of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and leader of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians Istvan Pasztor.

“It was with great sadness that I received the news of the death of Istvan Pasztor, a responsible and conscientious man, devoted to his political vision and in that sense - great, always and in everything, noble and honourable, who truly loved Serbia as our house and rejoiced in its every success, giving its enormous personal contribution.

With his engagement, experience and knowledge, Istvan Pasztor left an indelible mark in political life. Thanks to his tireless efforts, together, we painstakingly built trust and friendship between Serbs and Hungarians, and his commitment to the Hungarian community and contribution to the promotion and togetherness in Serbia, remain his most beautiful legacy, the one he eagerly championed and fought for and which we will continue to follow.

My deepest condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, fellow advocates and admirers of Istvan Pasztor.

May he rest in peace”, said Dr Orlic in his letter of condolences.
