Having briefed Janmaat on the scope and composition of the Economic Caucus, Marinkovic spoke of its objectives and ideas viz. the creation of a healthy economic environment and constant direct communication with entrepreneurs. He stressed that the Government and the National Assembly consider economic reform a priority, reminding his guest of the many reform laws directly related to economic recovery and attracting investors. Marinkovic and Janmaat also spoke of the energy policy and privatisation in Serbia.

Janmaat said it was important to establish contact between the Economic Caucus and the EU Delegation to Serbia European Integration and Economy Departments, which the current meeting contributed to, and discuss future cooperation. He said that the two departments if the EU Delegation are closely connected to a great many negotiation chapters which should, he hopes, be opened soon. He also stressed that specific recommendations for Serbia would be drafted and presented in the second half of the next year.

Janmaat commended the fact that the Economic Caucus comprises MPs of both the ruling and opposition parties.
