Deputy Speaker Arsic Meets with Chairman of Russian Accounts Chamber

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Veroljub Arsic met today at the National Assembly House with the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Alexei Kudrin.


Arsic said that the National Assembly and the Serbian State Audit Institution’s cooperation is excellent, accompanied by the maintenance of the body’s independence, and hoped that the two countries’ auditing authorities would manage to establish good and fruitful cooperation.

Arsic emphasized the traditionally friendly relations between Serbia and the Russian Federation at all levels, reflected among other things in the work of the Joint Cooperation Commission of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, which has so far had five sessions, and praised the initiative to set up an Institute of Historical Memory.

The Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Alexei Kudrin briefed Deputy Speaker Arsic on the Accounts Chamber’s scope and modus operandi and the plans to ensure a higher transparency of its work. He emphasized the importance of the continuous advancement of cooperation between Russia and Serbia at all levels, adding that that ratification of the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Eurasian Economic Union would contribute to it, while Deputy Speaker Arsic stressed that the ratification of the Agreement would confirm that Serbia is a free country that wishes to bring its economic cooperation with the Russian Federation to the level of overall cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by the President of the State Audit Institution and Chief Auditor Dr Dusko Pejovic who said that the institution is ready to accept and do joint audits with the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation.
