In the course of the visit the MPs met with the Committee on Security and Integrity Protection, Intelligence Inspectorate, Swedish Parliamentary Committee on Justice and the Parliamentary Ombudsman.

On day one the MPs visited the Committee on Security and Integrity Protection, special governmental body responsible for oversight, with elements of parliamentary control. They also met with the members of the Swedish Parliamentary Committee on Justice who briefed them on the Committee’s structure, modus operandi and work dynamics.

On the second day the MPs met with the Intelligence Inspectorate where they were informed about its tasks, organisation, work methodology and dynamics.

They also met with the Parliamentary Ombudsman who conducts regular oversight over the authorities in Sweden and whose recommendations are very important for the improvement of the supervision of security services.

The delegation of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee was headed by Veroljub Arsic, National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Committee member. The delegation comprised Committee members Zeljko Susec, Dragan Sormaz, Goran Bogdanovic, Meho Omerovic and substitute members Vladimir Djukanovic, Sinisa Maksimovic and Dr Milorad Mijatovic.

The meetings were also attended by Zoran Jovanovic, firs advisor to the Serbian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden.
