Dacic Meets with German Bundestag MP

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today, in Belgrade, with German Bundestag MP Peter Beyer, currently in official visit to Serbia.

Dacic stressed that the Serbian Parliament has been traditionally interested in cooperating with Bundestag colleagues, as evidenced by the fact that the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Germany had in the previous legislature had 99 members. He stressed that EU accession is Serbia’s foreign policy priority and that the country is ready to continue the process of necessary reforms, when conditions allow, hoping that it would have Germany’s support on that path.

Peter Beyer, member of the Christian Democratic Union in the Bundestag, said that this visit would contribute to the further strengthening of parliamentary contacts and relations, and is very useful for better understanding the needs and priorities of both the Republic of Serbia and the region.
