Dacic Lays Wreath on Occasion of WWI Armistice Anniversary

As part of the central state ceremony commemorating the World War One Armistice Day, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic laid a wreath at the Memorial and Memorial Ossuary to the Defenders of Belgrade in World War One at the New Cemetery.

The Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Darija Kisic Tepavcevic, Mayor of Belgrade Zoran Radojicic, delegations of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army, representatives of the diplomatic corps and the Association for Preserving the Traditions of the Serbian Liberation Wars also laid wreaths at the monument.

The World War One Armistice Day is commemorated in remembrance of 11 November 1914 when ceasefire was signed in the French town of Compiègne ending World War One.

In Serbia, it was officially commemorated in 2012.
