Continuation of the Eighth Sitting of the Foreign Affairs Committee

On Monday, 24 April 2023, the Foreign Affairs Committee continued the eighth sitting, adjourned on28 December 2022, at the proposal of Committee Deputy Chairperson Marina Ragus due to the lack of formal legal conditions for it.


At this continuation, the Committee decided to hold a joint hearing on the Resolution Proposal for the alignment of the foreign policy of the Republic of Serbia with the foreign policy of the European Union in the form of restrictive measures towards the Russian Federation, submitted by MP Borko Stefanovic; Recommendations to the Government of the Republic of Serbia on the new foreign policy, submitted by a group of MPs; Declaration on the need to strengthen cooperation with the Russian Federation on a bilateral level and in international organisations, submitted by a group of MPs; Declaration on the "Serbian Mini-Schengen" (new form of integration of Serbia, Republic of Srpska and Montenegro), submitted by a group of MPs and the Proposal of a Resolution of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia on the prohibition of the use of unilateral sanctions as instruments of foreign policy, submitted by a group of MPs.

Following the presentation of the first five items on the agenda by representatives of the submitters and a discussion, the Committee voted not to accept the Resolution Proposal for the alignment of the foreign policy of the Republic of Serbia with the foreign policy of the European Union in the form of restrictive measures towards the Russian Federation, Recommendations to the Government of the Republic of Serbia on the new foreign policy, Declaration on the need to strengthen cooperation with the Russian Federation on a bilateral level and in international organisations, Declaration on the "Serbian Mini-Schengen" (new form of integration of Serbia, Republic of Srpska and Montenegro) and the Proposal of a Resolution of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia on the prohibition of the use of unilateral sanctions as instruments of foreign policy.

The Committee proceeded to adopted several initiatives for visits and noted the regular activities of the standing delegations.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Borko Stefanovic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Haji Milorad Stosic, Dr Djordje Miketic, Draginja Vlk, Djordje Komlenski, Marina Ragus, MA Nenad Tomasevic, Jasmina Obradovic, Sanda Raskovic Ivic, Miodrag Linta, Ana Miljanic, Nemanja Joksimovic, Usame Zukorlic, Natasa Jovanovic, Ugljesa Markovic and Sanja Calovic.
