Constitutional and Legislative Issues Committee Delegation Takes Part in Fourth International Conference of Parliamentary Committees on Legal Affairs
A delegation of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues took part in the Fourth International Conference of the Parliamentary Committees on Legal Affairs, held on 1 and 2 June 2015 in Berlin.
The topic of the Conference organised by the Committee on Legal Affairs and Consumer Protection of the German Bundestag with the support of IRZ, was “Human rights and possible limitations, and consumer protection on the Internet”.
The Chairman of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues Dr Aleksandar Martinovic addressed the Conference of the first day with the topic “Protection of fundamental human rights in judicial proceedings”.
The participants of the Conference discussed protection of human rights in judicial practice, constitutional control over the exercise of human rights, relationship between the protection of human rights and security policy, relationship between personal freedom and the fight against terrorism, the right of the individual to decide which personal information can be made available on the Internet and the right to delete previously recorded personal digital data, Internet safety and protection against the misuse of personal information.
The delegation members met with the host of the Conference, Mrs Renate Künast, Chairwoman of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Consumer Protection of the German Bundestag.
The Fourth International Conference of the Parliamentary Committees on Legal Affairs is a continuation of the dialogue on legislative policy begun at the First Conference, held on 10 February 2011 in Belgrade. At the end of the Conference the participants decided to continue the cooperation between the legislative committees by organising a new conference.
The Conference was attended by legislative committee delegations from European, Asian and North African countries.
The delegation of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues comprised Committee Chairman Dr Aleksandar Martinovic and Committee member Zarko Micin.
