Chairman of the European Integration Committee of the Croatian Parliament visits Serbian Assembly
On 14 April 2005, the chairperson of the European Integrations Committee, Ksenija Milivojevic, and the chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Gordana Comic, and member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Professor Dr Miodrag Stamenkovic, met, at the National Assembly, the chairman of the European Integration Committee of the Croatian Parliament, Neven Mimica, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in Serbia and Montenegro, Tonci Stancic.
On 14 April 2005, the chairperson of the European Integrations Committee, Ksenija Milivojevic, and the chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Gordana Comic, and member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Professor Dr Miodrag Stamenkovic, met, at the National Assembly, the chairman of the European Integration Committee of the Croatian Parliament, Neven Mimica, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in Serbia and Montenegro, Tonci Stancic.
The visitors from Croatia were welcomed by the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic.
The meeting saw an exchange of experiences of parliaments in the process of the two countries’ integration into the European Union, regarding harmonisation of legislation with EU standards, implementation of reforms, and attitude of parliamentary parties and reactions of the public towards European integrations.
Participants in the discussion expressed their readiness to improve co-operation between the two countries, and stressed the necessity of wider regional co-operation that would give a more significant role to parliaments.
