Chairman Markovic meets Bulgarian MP- head of Serbia co-operation group in Bulgarian Parliament

The Chairman of the National Assembly, Predrag Markovic, today met, at Assembly House, the head of the parliamentary group for co-operation with Serbia and chairman of the Coalition for Bulgaria Parliamentary Group in the Bulgarian Parliament, Mihail Milkov.



The Chairman of the National Assembly, Predrag Markovic, today met, at Assembly House, the head of the parliamentary group for co-operation with Serbia and chairman of the Coalition for Bulgaria Parliamentary Group in the Bulgarian Parliament, Mihail Milkov.

Mr Markovic informed the Bulgarian guest of the results achieved by the National Assembly so far, as well as of the changes to the Rules of Procedure, bringing them into line with European standards and making it easier for Assembly Committees to work. The officials agreed that it was necessary to strengthen parliamentary co-operation through the work of parliamentary committees and the formation of a ‘friendship group’, especially after the EU’s decision to allow Bulgaria to join the European community of nations.

Mr Markovic expressed his warmest congratulations to his guest on the news that Bulgaria would join the European Union.

The meeting between Mr Markovic and Mr Milkov was also attended by the Bulgarian ambassador to Serbia, HE Georgi Dimitrov.
