Aleksandra Djurovic Elected Chairperson of PACE Sub-Committee on External Relations
In addition to being elected Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Monday, today, Aleksandra Djurovic was also elected Chairperson of the prestigious PACE Sub-Committee on External Relations, for a one-year mandate with the option of re-election. The Sub-Committee functions within the PACE Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy.
The Sub-Committee is in charge of the Parliamentary Assembly’s cooperation with the national parliaments of member and non-member states, international parliamentary and government organizations and other affairs as ascertained by the PACE Bureau. The Sub-Committee prioritizes its cooperation with the United Nations and its agencies, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
“I am pleased to have won my colleagues’ unanimous support today to head this renowned Sub-Committee. I hope to meet their expectations and showcase Serbia in the best light. It is an honour to be able to define and direct PACE’s cooperation with other organizations”, said Djurovic.
