9th session of the Culture and Information Committee
The ninth session of the Culture and Information Committee was held on 12 July 2004, and was chaired by the Committee’s chairman, Aleksandar Lazarevic.

The session discussed the Report on activities taken under Ministry of Culture Official Document No. 63-2299, dated 3 June 2004, on inspecting cultural treasures enjoying prior protection under Article 27, Paragraph 1, Subsections 2 and 3 of the Cultural Treasures Act, and which are in possession of the Museum of Yugoslav History, a Republic institution.
The Committee discussed a submission made by Dragan Lukic, who requested an inquiry into the state and usage of the property of Pristina Radio and Television. The Committee decided to ask the Government of the Republic of Serbia, charged with administering the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation on behalf of the Republic of Serbia, for a comprehensive report on the transformations of Pristina Radio and Television, especially on whose property is in charge of private TV station MOST.
The session also discussed a submission made by Sima Potkonjak, requesting monitoring of the activities of the National Library of Serbia. The Committee decided to forward the submission to the relevant Ministry’s Cultural Heritage and Library Administration Sector, with the request for the Ministry to forward its opinion on the work of the Director of the National Library of Serbia after performing the monitoring.
The Committee also discussed a submission made by UTE, proposing a member of the Broadcasting Council, a submission made by the Serbian Visual Artists’ Society, containing an objection to the draft Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, as well as another submission of the Serbian Visual Artists’ Society, requesting an assessment of the soundness of submitting amendments to Articles 25 and 58 of the Bill on Contributions for Compulsory Social Insurance.
The Committee decided to take on a student-intern to assist in the work of the Culture and Information Committee.
