96th Sitting of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues

At the sitting held on 13 February, the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues considered the amendments to the bills on the agenda of the11th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, 11th Legislature.


The Committee members found one of the nine amendments the MPs had submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Preschool Education, the amendment submitted to Article 1 of the Bill by MP Natasa Jovanovic, not to comply with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia. The rest were found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia. The Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society had also submitted an amendment to Article 1 of the Bill, which the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

Of the 26 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Primary Education, the amendment submitted to Article 9 of the Bill by MP Nemanja Sarovic was found not to comply with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia. The rest were found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee found all 25 of the amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Foundations of the Education System to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the 14 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Pupil and Student Standards.

The Committee members found all three of the amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Serbian Literary Cooperative to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia, as well as both the amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Weapons and Ammunition.

The two amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Radiation and Nuclear Security and Safety were found not to comply with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Djordje Komlenski and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Aleksandra Majkic, Vesna Markovic, Vesna Nikolic Vukajlovic, Srbislav Filipovic, Bojan Torbica, Dr Balint Pasztor, Jelena Zaric Kovacevic, Petar Petrovic and Milena Corilic.
