6th session of the Youth and Sports Committee

At its sixth session, held on 25 April, the Youth and Sports Committee adopted the Report on the implementation of four phases of the OSCE-financed project, Youth + Health = Sports, and established a plan for the implementation of the fifth phase of the project in Zlatibor District.


At its sixth session, held on 25 April, the Youth and Sports Committee adopted the Report on the implementation of four phases of the OSCE-financed project, Youth + Health = Sports, and established a plan for the implementation of the fifth phase of the project in Zlatibor District.

It was concluded that Committee members taking part in the implementation of the project should discuss the matter with the Minister of Education and Sports, Slobodan Vuksanovic, and the Director of the Sports Directorate, present their views on the state of school gyms and sports facilities in districts they visited, and to report to the Committee on the discussion.

Committee members were acquainted with an official letter from the Ambassador of Serbia and Montenegro to Poland, Ramiz Basic, inviting deputies to take part in the Third Marathon and Half Marathon World Championship for Members of Parliament, to be held in Krakow on 7 May 2005.

The session also discussed violence at sporting events, and the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Justice were requested information on the security situation at sporting events, as well as on measures taken and the number of misdemeanour and criminal charges filed.
