62nd Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 17 June, the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government considered a number of reports of independent regulatory bodies.


The Ombudsman’s 2018 Regular Annual Report was presented by Olja Jovicic, Ombudsman’s Support Service Secretary-General. Following a brief discussion, the Committee accepted the Report accompanied by the Conclusion Proposal on the reviewed Ombudsman’s 2018 Regular Annual Report and forwarded them to the National Assembly for consideration and adoption.

The Report on the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance and the Law on Personal Data Protection in 2018 was presented by Stanojla Mandic, Deputy Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, after which the Committee members accepted the Report accompanied by the Conclusion Proposal on the reviewed Report on the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance and the Law on Personal Data Protection in 2018 and forwarded them to the National Assembly for consideration and adoption.

The Committee also considered the Anti-Corruption Agency 2018 Activity Report accompanied by the Report on the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy and the Action Plan for the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2013-2018. The Report was presented by Dejan Damjanovic, Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, after which the Committee members accepted the Report accompanied by the Conclusion Proposal on the reviewed Anti-Corruption Agency 2018 Activity Report and forwarded them to the National Assembly for consideration and adoption.

The Committee went on to consider the Proposal of the Decision on the election of judges to judicial office for the first time, submitted by the High Judicial Council, and decided to propose that the National Assembly accept it.

The Committee also considered the Proposal of the Decision on the election of deputy public prosecutors, submitted by the State Prosecutorial Council and decided to propose that the National Assembly accept it.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Petar Petrovic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Doc. Dr Mihailo Jokic, Nedjo Jovanovic, Jovan Palalic, Stanija Kompirovic, Aleksandra Majkic, Slavisa Bulatovic, Djordje Komlenski, Zarko Micin and Dr Balint Pasztor.
