57th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government
At the sitting held on 21 January, the members of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government ascertained and decided to forward to the National Assembly for adoption the Proposal of the Decision on the termination of office of President of the Basic Court in Valjevo Ljiljana Karac, as well as the Proposal of the Decision on the termination of office of Public Prosecutor at the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Zajecar Mirko Petkovic.
The Committee members also ascertained the Proposal of the Decision on the election of High Judicial Council elective members from the ranks of judges, submitted by the High Judicial Council, as well as the Proposal of the Decision on the election of State Prosecutorial Council elective members from the ranks of public prosecutors and deputy public prosecutors with permanent tenure of office, and decided to propose to the National Assembly to adopt them.
The Committee then selected two members to represent it at the symposium “Improving the role of parliamentarians in the construction of an effective anti-terrorism system within the system of rule of law”, 1-2 March 2016, at the European parliament in Brussels.
The sitting was attended by judge Mirjana Ivic, member of the High Judicial Council, and an associate.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Petar Petrovic and attended by Committee members Dr Aleksandar Martinovic, Velinka Tosic, Vuceta Toskovic, Jovan Markovic, Tanja Tomasevic Damnjanovic, Zarko Micin, Nedjo Jovanovic, Meho Omerovic, Miletic Mihajlovic and Zivan Djurisic.
