57th Sitting of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending

At the sitting held on 14 December 2021, the members of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending considered, in principle, the Bill on the Loan of the Republic of Serbia with Banca Intesa AD Belgrade for the Financing of the Ruma – Sabac – Loznica Project, submitted by the Government.

The Bill was presented by Dragan Babic of the Public Debt Administration who said that the construction of the Ruma–Sabac highway and Sabac–Loznica expressway is one of Serbia’s priority road transport projects as it is important for the development and connection of about 600,000 people in the Macva and Srem districts, as well as Podrinje and western Serbia with Vojvodina and that part of Serbia with the region, especially Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that the long-term investment loan agreement for the purpose of financing the Ruma-Sabac-Loznica Project between the Republic of Serbia and Banca Intesa AD Belgrade, signed in Belgrade on 19 November 2021, set the financial conditions for the Republic of Serbia’s direct indebtedness of 14,900,000,000 RSD for a period of ten years.

Following the presentation, the Committee members unanimously accepted the Bill.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairperson Dr Aleksandra Tomic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Zoran Tomic, Ana Carapic, Ana Beloica, Zoltan Pek, Nikola Jolovic, Adriajana Pupovac, Veroljub Arsic, Zoran Bojanic, Olivera Pesic and Dr Boban Birmancevic.
