56th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 18 December, the members of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government reviewed the candidate lists and decision proposals for the election of bearers of prosecutorial office in the Republic of Serbia, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.


Following a discussion, the Committee noted that the Candidate List for the election of Prosecutor for Organised Crime and the Candidate List for the election of Prosecutor for War Crimes were submitted by the Government as the authorised submitter, pursuant to Article 74, paragraph 2 of the Law on Public Prosecution, and unanimously endorsed them.

The Committee members also endorsed the decision proposals for the election of public prosecutors for higher and basic prosecutor’s offices.

The Committee then proceeded to propose that the National Assembly review the abovementioned candidate lists and decision proposals by urgent procedure, pursuant to Article 167 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure.

On the behalf of the Ministry of Justice, the candidate lists for the election of Prosecutor for Organised Crime and Prosecutor for War Crimes, as well as the decision proposals for the election of public prosecutors for higher and basic prosecutor’s offices, were elaborated by Minister Nikola Selakovic.

The sitting was attended by Committee members Vuceta Toskovic, Dragan Paunovic, Olgica Batic, Biljana Ilic Stosic, Mirjana Andric, Miletic Mihajlovic, Zivan Djurisic, Velinka Tosic, Tanja Tomasevic Damnjanovic, Nedjo Jovanovic and Meho Omerovic.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Petar Petrovic.
