53rd Sitting of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee

At the sitting held on 22 February, the members of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee discussed the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Russian Federation on Mutual Protection of Intellectual Property in the course of Bilateral Military-Technical Cooperation, submitted by the Government.


Zoran Djordjevic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, provided the rationale on the Bill. Djordjevic said that the objective of the Agreement is to ensure the protection of intellectual property in the course of bilateral military-technical cooperation in line with the legislation of the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation, and in line with the international agreements, part of the two countries’ legal systems.

Major General Bojan Zrnic, Head of the Administration for International Military Cooperation at the Ministry of Defence, said that the provisions of the Agreement do not apply to the rights and obligations arising from contracts concluded before the Agreement came into force.

Following a brief discussion the Committee members accepted the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Russian Federation on Mutual Protection of Intellectual Property in the course of Bilateral Military-Technical Cooperation, submitted by the Government.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Deputy ChairmanBojan Kostres, and was attended by Committee members Nenad Nikolic, Milos Tosanic, Borisav Kovacevic, Vanja Vukic, Aleksandar Markovic, Dubravka Filipovski, Dragan Sutanovac, Suzana Sarac, Zoran Babic and Zivan Djurisic.
