4th session of the Education Committee
The fourth session of the Education Committee was held on 17 May 2004, and was chaired by the Committee’s chairman, Nenad Lemajic.

The session was attended by the Minister of Education, Ljiljana Colic, who acquainted Committee members with the Ministry’s legislative and general activities.
Ms Colic clarified the Bill Amending and Modifying the Act on the Education System, and underscored the significance of the newly adopted Regulations on Secondary School Enrolment.
Former Minister of Education, Gaso Knezevic, reiterated that the Ministry’s proposal was neither amending nor modifying the existing Act, but that it was rather a completely new piece of legislation, as eighty percent of the Act had been changed fundamentally.
On the second day of the Committee’s session (18 May), the Minister of Education, Ljiljana Colic, answered Committee members’ questions on changes foreseen by the new Bill and on the National Educational Council.
The Committee agreed on its project proposal for applying for funding from the OSCE Committee Development Fund. The project provides for roundtables on issues in education, as well as visits to educational centres and universities.
