46th Sitting of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues

At the sitting held on 29 June 2021, the members of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues considered the Bill on Student Organisation, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Higher Education and the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Financial Support to Families with Children, in detail.


MP Sandra Bozic had submitted three amendments to the Bill on Student Organisation, which the Committee found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee also found the five amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Higher Education to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

All five of the amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Financial Support to Families with Children were also found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee went on to forward a response to the Constitutional Court concerning the initiative to launch proceedings for the assessment of constitutionality of Article 236, paragraph 1, item 2, Article 238, and Article 241, item 1 of the Law on Charges for Usage of Public Goods (“RS Official Gazette”, no.95/18 and 49/19).

The Committee members also adopted the Decision amending the Decision on the establishment of the Working Group for the Drafting of the Act to amend the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Jelena Zaric Kovacevic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Nevena Veinovic, Zeljko Tomic, Olja Petrovic, Ilija Matejic, Vuk Mircetic, Luka Kebara, Ugljesa Mrdic, Toma Fila, Jovan Palalic and Arpad Fremond.
