At the session held on 8 November 2004, members of the Legislative Committee discussed and endorsed the Bill Modifying the Publishing Act, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

The Legislative Committee also endorsed, in principle, the Postal Services Bill and the Electronic Signature Bill, both submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, and assessed amendments submitted to the Bills as legally possible.

The session discussed an official letter from the Culture and Information Committee asking, for an opinion on the manner of electing members of the Council of the Republic Broadcasting Agency and the deadlines for their election, bearing in mind that the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, a body authorised to nominate candidates, has not forwarded the list of its nominees.

It is the view of the Legislative Committee that all nine members of the Council must be elected at the same time. Bearing in mind that the prescribed period for submitting nominations has been exceeded, the Culture and Information Committee should ask the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina to submit the list of its nominees within 15 days, a period considered sufficient.
