45th Sitting of the European Integration Committee

At the sitting held on 3 November, the members of the European Integration Committee, discussed, in principle, the Bill on Strong Alcoholic Beverages, submitted by the Government.


First, at the proposal of Committee member Dusica Stojkovic, the agenda was expanded to include item: Proposal for a roundtable on “Europe in my town: What can I do for my town in the EU accession process”, that the Committee would co-organise with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation on 27 November 2015 in Kraljevo.

The Bill on Strong Alcoholic Beverages was elaborated by Kolinda Hrehorovic of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, who said that the Bill regulates the production, geographical indication, quality, description, presentation, declaration and trade in strong alcoholic drinks. She stressed that the bill regulates the production, protection of geographical indication, declaration and control of the production of strong spirits in the same way there are regulated in EU member states and neighbouring countries.

The Committee members accepted the Bill on Strong Alcoholic Beverages, in principle.

The Committee members then went on to review the invitations and appoint delegations to the 54th COSAC meeting, to be held 29 November – 1 December 2015, in the context of the parliamentary dimension of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union, to the regional parliamentary conference “Strengthening Regional Cooperation in the Western Balkans: Achievements and Prospects”, to be held on Jahorina, on 26 and 27 November 2015, and the interparliamentary seminar “2013 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Reform: Implications for the Enlargement Countries”, in Brussels, 9 December 2015.

The Committee members then discussed and unanimously accepted the Proposal to organise a roundtable on “Europe in my town: What can I do for my town in the EU accession process”, on 27 November 2015 in Kraljevo, and appointed Committee members Dusica Stojkovic and Irena Aleksic as its representatives.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Aleksandar Senic.
