42nd session of the Privatisation Committee
At its session held on 2 June 2005, the Privatisation Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia discussed the situation and issues relating to the privatisation of Belgrade-based media provider Novosti Joint-Stock Company.
At its session held on 2 June 2005, the Privatisation Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia discussed the situation and issues relating to the privatisation of Belgrade-based media provider Novosti Joint-Stock Company.
The Privatisation Committee adopted a conclusion recommending the cessation of all activities on the taking over of Novosti shares until the true situation is ascertained and the assets audited. The Committee recommended public authorities to take all steps necessary to ascertain the factual situation regarding the privatisation of Novosti.
In addition to the deputies, the discussion, which lasted for two and a half hours, was taken part in by the Minister of the Economy, Predrag Bubalo, the Director of the Central Registry, Vida Uzelac, the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Milko Stimac, officials of the Directorate of Information and representatives of small shareholders of Novosti.
The session was chaired by the chairman of the Privatisation Committee, Nikola Novakovic.
