39th Sitting of the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy

At the sitting held on 27 March, the members of the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy reviewed the Commission for Protection of Competition 2017 and 2018 activity reports.


The President of the Commission for Protection of Competition Dr Miloje Obradovic said that, as requested by the European Commission, in the reporting period the Commission enlarged its administrative capacities and focused on the implementation of laws and protection of competition. The Commission has become a leader in the Balkans and successfully cooperates with other commissions both in the region and in the European Union.

Speaking of financing, Obradovic said that the Commission is self-financed and had secured the necessary funds. Presenting the reports, Obradovic also spoke about the activities concerning Serbia’s EU accession process that the Commission takes part in as member or in other capacities.

Following the presentation, the Committee Chairperson proposed a conclusion stating that the Committee accepts the Commission for Protection of Competition activity reports and that they can be published in the “Official Gazette”, which the Committee accepted by majority vote.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Snezana B. Petrovic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Stanislava Janosevic, Studenka Kovacevic, Zoran Bojanic, Milimir Vujadinovic, Aleksandra Tomic, Gorica Gajic, Marija Jevdjic, Snezana R. Petrovic, Ana Carapic and Snezana Paunovic.
