33rd Sitting of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues

At the sitting held on 26 April 2021, the members of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues unanimously adopted the decision to include into the agenda ruling on the motion to organize a public hearing with the topic “Changes to the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia in the field of the judiciary”.

The Committee went on to consider, in principle, the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Culture, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Accreditation, Bill on Precious Metal Articles, and the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Prevention of Doping in Sports.

The Committee also considered the Bill on the Confirmation of the Social Security Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Quebec, Bill on the Confirmation of the Protocol to amending and modifying the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the United States of America relating to Scientific and Technical Cooperation, and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Russian Federation in the Field of Plant Quarantine and Plant Protection.

The Committee members found all the bills to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee members went on to adopt the decision to organize a public hearing with the topic “Changes to the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia in the field of the judiciary”, on 29 April 2021, 10 am, in the Small Hall of the National Assembly House.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Jelena Zaric Kovacevic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Nevena Veinovic, Zeljko Tomic, Olja Petrovic, Vuk Mircetic, Luka Kebara, Ugljesa Mrdic, Djuro Peric, Toma Fila, Arpad Fremond, Milos Terzic and Violeta Ocokoljic.
