32nd session of the Privatisation Committee

At its session held on 11 January, the Privatisation Committee discussed the report of the Ministry of the Economy on the situation at and problems in the privatisation of Zemun-based Veterinarski zavod Joint-Stock Company.


At its session held on 11 January, the Privatisation Committee discussed the report of the Ministry of the Economy on the situation at and problems in the privatisation of Zemun-based Veterinarski zavod Joint-Stock Company. After a discussion lasting several hours, in which, in addition to Committee members, representatives of the Ministry of the Economy, the Corruption Suppression Council, trade unions and employees took part, the Committee resolved that no decision may be reached until the Supreme Court rules on charges brought by a consortium of employees.

Committee members requested the Privatisation Agency to arrange another meeting between the buyer and representatives of the trade union of Novi Pazar-based Oktan-pro, to be attended by Committee member Ostoja Stojanovic. The Committee advised the Privatisation Agency to initiate proceedings for the termination of the Sale and Purchase Contract if the meeting does not result in agreement being reached.

The session also reached agreement in principle on the manner of work of the Privatisation Committee in 2005.
