State Secretary at the Ministry of Interior Milorad Todorovic said that the EU’s new approach to negotiations with third party countries stipulates that, in the negotiation process, out of the 35 negotiation chapters, along with Chapter 23, Chapter 24 be the first to be opened and last to be closed. It was also decided to draft an action plan for Chapter 24 on the fulfilment of recommendations of the European Commission which is a precondition for the opening of said negotiation chapter.
The Third Draft Action Plan, covering the 10 policies within Chapter 24, was presented by the coordinators of the team, with a special focus on areas dealing with organised crime, asylum, Schengen and migration.
The Committee members decided to propose to the National Assembly European Integration Committee to give a positive opinion to the Third Draft Action Plan for Chapter 24.
MP Marija Obradovic was elected Committee rapporteur for the European Integration Committee sitting.
