30th session of the Privatisation Committee

At its session held on 22 December 2004, the Privatisation Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia discussed and endorsed the Report of the Ministry of the Economy on the Activities of the Privatisation Agency for November 2004 with its associated Programme of Activities of the Agency for December 2004.The Committee discussed the report of the Privatisation Agency on the re-examination of the fulfilment of the contractual obligations of the buyer of Belgrade-based retailer Gorica Joint-stock Company.



At its session held on 22 December 2004, the Privatisation Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia discussed and endorsed the Report of the Ministry of the Economy on the Activities of the Privatisation Agency for November 2004 with its associated Programme of Activities of the Agency for December 2004.

The Committee discussed the report of the Privatisation Agency on the re-examination of the fulfilment of the contractual obligations of the buyer of Belgrade-based retailer Gorica Joint-stock Company. The Committee adopted a Conclusion to the effect that the Agency would be required to forward information to the Committee on whether the buyer had, by 30 December 2004, submitted to the Agency proof of revocation of its decision on obligations relating to contractual fines which is in contravention of the Annex of the Contract.

The Privatisation Committee discussed and endorsed the report of the Privatisation Agency relating to requests made by the chairperson of the Trade Union, a member of the Board of Directors and the General Manager of Bajina Basta-based Sloboda-Tara Joint-stock Company for the termination of the Sale and Purchase Contract.

Having discussed the report of the Privatisation Agency on the monitoring of the fulfilment of contractual obligations in the privatisation of Kraljevo-based Hladnjaca, members of the Privatisation Committee upheld the Agency’s opinion that the Sale and Purchase Contract should be terminated.

After discussing the report of the Privatisation Agency on the adoption of the Decision on the Termination of the Sale and Purchase Contract for Socially-Owned Capital of Bac-based Arma Company, members of the Privatisation Committee recommended that the Agency should organise a meeting for trade union representatives and the buyer to attempt to reach agreement on continuing production.

The Privatisation Committee discussed and endorsed the report on the actions of the Privatisation Agency in the case of Kragujevac-based PKB Transport, and recommended that the competent commercial court should afford preferential treatment to legal actions relating to PKB Transport and PKB Kragujevac.
