30th Sitting of the Foreign Affairs Committee

At the sitting held on 26 December, the Foreign Affairs Committee members accepted the initiative for the participation of the members of the NARS standing delegation to the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy at the 20th Conference of the Orthodox Christian Nations Unity Foundation, to be held 10-13 February 2014 in Nis.


The Committee members unanimously adopted the reports on visits and contacts realised in the previous period and noted all other contacts realised.
In the course of the sitting, the Committee also noted the modification to the composition of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Finland.
The Committee members went on to conduct an interview with the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Stanimir Vukicevic, before deployment to diplomatic duty. Addressing the Committee members, Vukicevic spoke of the internal affairs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, relations between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, pointing out the significance of and need for further development of good relations and good cooperation not only with the Republic of Srpska, with which Serbia enjoys special parallel ties, but also with the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole.
The Committee members also pointed out the need to further the two countries’ relations stressing that the Serbian Embassy in Sarajevo should take active part in commemorating the 100 years since the beginning of World War One. Showing support for the new Ambassador, the Committee members wished Vukicevic success.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Milos Aligrudic.
