28th Sitting of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues

At the sitting held on 13 October 2023, the members of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues considered the Proposal of an authentic interpretation of the provision of Article 243, paragraph 1, of the Law on Healthcare, submitted by the Government.

The Committee ruled, by majority vote, that there is justified cause to pass the authentic interpretation of the provision of Article 243, paragraph 1, of the Law on Healthcare, submitted by the Government. It also decided that the authentic interpretation proposal be submitted to the National Assembly for interpretation under urgent procedure.

The Committee also responded to the Constitutional Court regarding the launched proceedings to determine the unconstitutionality of the provisions of Article 210, paragraph 1, items 2 and 3 and paragraph 3, Article 212, paragraph 1 in the part stating: “and 3)” and item 2 and Article 213, paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Law on Healthcare of 8 June 2023.

The sitting was attended by Assistant Minister of Health Goran Stamenovic and Head of the Inspections Sector Tatjana Stamatovic.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Jelena Zaric Kovacevic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dragan Nikolic, Milica Nikolic, Dr Ugljesa Mrdic, Sanja Jefic Brankovic, Zoran Tomic, Ratko Nikolic, Vladimir Gajic, Dr Zika Bujukic, Nebojsa Cakic, Olja Petrovic and Jelena Milivojevic.
