27th session of the Justice and Administration Committee

The Justice and Administration Committee held its twenty-seventh session on 4 March. The session was chaired by Jovan Palalic, chairman of the Committee.

The session discussed proposals of decisions on the election of judges of municipal courts, submitted by the High Judicial Council.

The Committee endorsed proposals for the election of 26 judges of municipal courts in Belgrade, as well as two judges of the Smederevo District Court.

The Committee discussed reports on the termination of office of judges of general competence and judges at special courts. On the day of the adoption of the decision, the office of one justice of the Supreme Court of Serbia, as well as of one judge each of district and commercial courts, as well as of two judges of municipal courts, is to be terminated at their own request; the office of one justice of the Supreme Court, as well as of one judge each of the Higher Commercial Court and a district court, and two judges of municipal courts, is to be terminated due to mandatory retirement.

The session of the Committee was attended by the chairman of the High Judicial Council and acting president of the Supreme Court of Serbia, Janko Lazarevic, and the Minister of Justice, Zoran Stojkovic.
