27th Sitting of the Environmental Protection Committee

At the sitting held on 30 January, the members of the Environmental Protection Committee reviewed the proposal to organize a public hearing on “Air Quality in Serbia”.


The proposal was submitted by MP Nada Lazic who said that it is imperative to raise public awareness on the issue considering that in January Belgrade was one of the most polluted cities in the world in terms of air quality.

The Committee members agreed that the competent ministers Goran Trivan and Aleksandar Antic should be asked to speak at the hearing, as well as the head of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Air Quality Sector, Deputy Mayor of Belgrade and other eminent experts.

Following a debate the Committee scheduled the public hearing on “Air Quality in Serbia” for 120 February 2020.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Maja Gojkovic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dusko Tarbuk, Ivana Nikolic, Radoslav Cokic, Jasmina Karanac, Nada Lazic, Zoran Despotovic, Branko Popovic, Borka Grubor, Prof. Dr Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic, Milena Turk and Dr Predrag Jelenkovic. The sitting was also attended by Lidija Radulovic, representative of the Green Chair mechanism.
