22nd Sitting of the Security Services Control Committee

At the 22nd sitting, held on 10 October 2018, the Security Services Control Committee considered and adopted the Security Information Agency Activity Report and the Report on the security situation in the Republic of Serbia for the previous period. Security Information Agency Director Bratislav Gasic and Agency representatives briefed the Committee members on the current security situation in the Republic of Serbia.


The security situation in the Republic of Serbia was deemed stable despite the countries’ continuous exposure to different minor or higher security challenges, risks and threats. The officials assessed the current risks and threats of global and regional importance to the security of the Republic of Serbia and its citizens.

They praised the intensive cooperation with other entities in the security intelligence system responsible for national security as well as other state authorities and institutions on the protection of national security and performance of joint tasks.

They were also pleased by the continuous improvement of the bilateral and multilateral cooperation the Agency maintains with partner security intelligence agencies and Serbian state authorities to be able to duly and adequately address security risks and threats and pursue the country’s interests.

The Committee gave a positive assessment of the professional conduct and work of the Security Information Agency’s personnel in the reporting period and gave the Agency full support in the pursuit of its priority tasks concerning the protection of the security and other interests of the Republic of Serbia and its citizens.

The Committee gave a positive assessment of the activities of the Agency’s personnel on the realization of the key tasks concerning the protection of the order and security of the Republic of Serbia as stipulated by the Constitution, opposing organized crime and criminal activities with a foreign element, internal and international terrorism and the gravest crimes against humanity and international law.
